Donald T. Critchlow is the author and editor of fifteen books, including Phyllis Schlafly and Grassroots Conservatism (Princeton University Press, 2005); Intended Consequences: Birth Control, Abortion, and the Federal Government (Oxford University Press, 1999, pap. 2001); Studebaker: The Life and Death of an American Corporation (Indiana University Press, 1997); and the Brookings Institution: Expertise and the Public Interest in a Democratic Society (Northern Illinois University Press, 1989).
His most recent title, The Conservative Ascendancy: How the GOP Right Made Political History was released this in fall 2007 by Harvard University Press. An anthology on American conspiracy theories, American Conspiracies Revealed is in production with Indiana University Press, and he is working on a debate book with Nancy MacLean with Rowman and Littlefield, and is well underway on a large study on the history of Hollywood politics--he is a native Californian, after all. Critchlow is a Professor of History at St. Louis University. The founding editor of the Journal of Public Policy, Critchlow has taught at Hong Kong University and Warsaw University, as well as a number of other universities.
