Dominic Tierney is assistant professor of political science at Swarthmore College. He received his PhD in international politics from Oxford University in 2003, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Ohio State University and Harvard University as well as a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania. During 2008-2009, Dominic will be a fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
Failing to Win won the International Studies Association award for the "best book of the year." His work has also appeared in the New York Times and various academic journals.
