A True Intrigue of Sex, Spies, and Heartbreak Behind the Iron Curtain
Ivan R. Dee, 2010

Charles Laurence was born in London in 1950 and spent the first few years of his life traveling with his family through the hot spots of the Cold War. Sent away to boarding school at eight, he was educated at Radley College and the University of Kent at Canterbury. He became a foreign correspondent for Britain's The Daily Telegraph newspaper, covering conflicts ranging from the Falklands War to the Middle East, India and Afghanistan before settling in New York as Bureau Chief. Now an American citizen, he continues to write for British newspapers and magazines, and divides his time between Woodstock, New York and the remote Caribbean island of Salt Cay.
