Brian Sloan is a writer and filmmaker based in New York City. His first novel, A Really Nice Prom Mess (Simon & Schuster) has been earmarked as a Violet Quill Award Finalist. His short fiction has been anthologized in the Men on Men series and Man of My Dreams (Chronicle), and in 1996, his short story “Sex With Teenagers” was nationally recognized. His stories have appeared in Genre, Christopher Street, and New Ink. His second novel, A Tale of Two Summers (Simon & Schuster) will publish in 2006.

As an independent filmmaker, Brian’s first feature, the comedy I Think I Do (Strand Releasing) was praised by The New York Times and Time magazine. He broke onto the indie scene with the short film Pool Days, his NYU thesis project, which screened at Sundance and the New Directors Film Festival and was included in Boys Life (Strand Releasing), a package of short films around the theme of coming out; it eventually spawned three sequels. Brian wrote and directed WTC View, a play that he has recently adapted into a feature film. It will play in festivals later this year and be released in 2006.
